Parents have told us that having the opportunity to speak with other parents when learning to take on the role of parenting a child who is deaf/hearing impaired can be a great help. We also know that often the best source of support and information comes from other parents with a child with a hearing loss. You can find parent to parent support via a number of ways, POD Groups (parent support groups), the Parent to Parent Mentoring Program (P2P) or via Aussie Deaf Kids online parent group. All are available free to families.
Parent Support Groups in NSW:
'POD' is a local parent support group open to parents and caregivers of children with any degree or type of deafness. POD provides opportunities to meet other parents, offers information sessions and allows parents to share experiences at a regular venue every month.
