An accessible Junior Science Academy program for children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, held at the Australian Hearing Hub, Macquarie University.
The session aims to introduce children to science concepts and skills in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

Today's event: Building Old Town Road for children in Years 4– 6

Learning Experiences include:

  • An exciting STEM project, developing your architectural and engineering skills as you construct a miniature town
  • Learn about 2D shapes and 3D objects, what they are and how to create them
  • Construct your own buildings for the city using Make Do tool Kits
  • Use your new skills and tools to create a geodesic dome
  • Put your town planner hat on as you complete the finishing touches to your town
  • Take home the favourite building you made
